Official Digital & AI Partner of Trackhouse Racing

Chat with the #88 while it races. Play Race to Scale for merch.

Very Good Ventures builds the software that turns Trackhouse's raw telemetry into decisions during a race. For the Enjoy Illinois 300 we pointed that same live feed at 88Bot, an AI that talks back while the car is on track.

The partnership

The partnership started with software, not a decal.

Trackhouse Racing Very Good Ventures

Very Good Ventures is an Official Digital & AI Partner of Trackhouse Racing. We joined the Trackhouse team to design the VIP pit box experience, a multi-device Flutter app that keeps guests connected to the race while they are at the track. Our first sponsorship with Trackhouse ran at Pocono in 2025, and the partnership continues through the 2026 season.

The performance side of the work is data. We built Trackhouse a real-time pipeline that turns raw telemetry into information the team's engineers use to make strategy calls lap by lap. Once that data was flowing, an AI that could read it and talk back to fans was a short step. We built 88Bot for the Enjoy Illinois 300 on the same live feed.

88Bot gives a running race car a voice. Trackhouse did not commission it or pay for it. We built it because the pipeline was already running, and a car that answers fans makes the point better than a slide does.

If you run a team, a league, or a brand partnership and want an activation fans can use rather than look at, talk to us.

FAQ

Questions fans ask about the 88

What is 88.vgv.ai?

88.vgv.ai is the web address painted on the Trackhouse Racing #88 for the Enjoy Illinois 300, a NASCAR Cup Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway. It points to this page, where fans can chat with 88Bot, an AI version of the car, play Race to Scale, and learn about Very Good Ventures, an Official Digital & AI Partner of Trackhouse Racing.

What is 88Bot and how does it work?

88Bot is an AI chatbot that role-plays the #88 car. During the race it reads live timing and telemetry, lineup and season stats, weather, and track history, then posts commentary every few minutes or when something worth talking about happens. Fans can send it messages and reply to what it says. Very Good Ventures built it with Trackhouse Racing.

When can I chat with the car?

Chat opens about two hours before the green flag on race day, while the car is at its autograph session. It stays open when the car moves to the grid about an hour before the start, and through the race. After the checkered flag, 88Bot posts a short wrap-up and stops taking messages. Before race day it shows a single idle message, so check back on race morning.

Do I need an app or an account, and does it cost anything?

No app, no account, and no cost. 88Bot runs in a normal web browser on your phone or laptop, and you chat anonymously under a generated handle. Race to Scale also plays in the browser with nothing to install, and asks for your name, company, and email so VGV can reach the players who win merch.

What can I say to 88Bot?

Ask it about the race, its position, the cars around it, the track, or its favorite classic video games and 1990s drivers. It remembers battles from earlier laps, and its mood follows the race. Messages pass three moderation checks before they appear.

What if I am reading this after the race?

The page stays up after the Enjoy Illinois 300. 88Bot stops taking messages after the checkered flag, but its wrap-up and the race conversation stay online to read back, and Race to Scale plays any time. VGV updates the result line at the top of this page once the finish is official.

What is Race to Scale?

Race to Scale is a 60-second browser racing game from VGV, built with Flutter, the same UI toolkit VGV uses for production apps at companies like Toyota and Betterment. Enter your name, company, and email, hit the gas, and see where you land. Top runs are eligible for VGV merch. It plays in any modern browser on a phone or desktop, and works best on Wi-Fi.

Who is Very Good Ventures, and why is a software company on a NASCAR car?

Very Good Ventures (VGV) is a digital product consultancy that builds apps and AI systems for companies like Toyota, Universal, and Betterment, and the Flutter architecture guidance on flutter.dev cites VGV. VGV is on the #88 because it is an Official Digital & AI Partner of Trackhouse Racing, the team's software partner and not only a sponsor. The car is a way to show that work to fans.

What does VGV do for Trackhouse Racing?

VGV works with Trackhouse on two tracks: performance and hospitality. On performance, VGV built a real-time data pipeline that turns raw telemetry into information the team's engineers use to make lap-by-lap performance and strategy calls during the race. On hospitality, VGV designed the VIP pit box app, a multi-device Flutter experience for guests at the track. VGV's first sponsorship with Trackhouse ran at Pocono in 2025 and continues through the 2026 season. 88Bot uses that same data pipeline, but Trackhouse did not fund it. VGV built it for fans because the data was already there.

Can VGV build something like this for my company?

Yes. 88Bot combines live data feeds, a language model with a defined persona, real-time moderation, and a web front end, which is the same set of pieces behind most production AI products. VGV builds generative AI experiences, Flutter apps for mobile, web, and embedded screens, and new AI-driven products from product strategy and product design through launch.
