In early 2020, Felix Angelov and Jorge Coca joined VGV and forever changed the trajectory of the company as well as the Flutter community. It’s hard to fathom how much has changed in the last three years. The VGV team has grown from 8 to 70 people, Flutter is on version 3.7.4, and we have a thriving ecosystem of companies and individuals all over the world.
Felix had a lot to do with that growth, and especially here at VGV we are immensely grateful for his impact and contributions.
Now, it’s time for Felix’s next opus — he’ll be joining Eric Seidel (co-founder of Flutter) at the new venture, Shorebird.
While we’ll miss him at VGV, we’re excited for him (and for the community) because we know they’ll make something at Shorebird that will benefit everyone in the community. The future is bright for Flutter and Dart, and we look forward to ongoing collaboration with Felix and Eric.
One of the things we’re most proud of at VGV is our commitment to open source. Felix has been a key driver of this commitment, leading a wide variety of important OSS projects, such as: flutter_bloc, mason, Very Good CLI, Dart Frog, and many more. Along the way, Felix has helped VGV build a powerhouse OSS team, including Jochum, Renan, Erick, and others. Indeed, VGV’s commitment to our OSS Roadmap is stronger than ever. And, our collaboration with Felix will continue, just in a different way.
So, farewell Felix! Thank you for being a fantastic teammate and for all the ways you changed us for the better. We’ll see you in the PRs.
